DENVER The Hallow Ranch was left to me, the first-born son. Before I inherited the ranch, I left to serve my country. When I came back to embrace my destiny, I was tricked. One night of lies and betrayal led me here. Without a brother. With a son. The Hallow Ranch is my focus. I have to ensure my son's future, whatever it takes. That includes ignoring the beautiful woman trying to take what's mine. VALERIE I have a job to do. Did I enjoy this job? No, but it pays for my mom's chemo. She’s all I have left. When I was assigned to propose the pipeline's offer to the Hallow Ranch, I expected some old rancher. I never saw Denver Langston coming - gorgeous, rude, and stubborn. The Hallow Ranch account would cover our bills for two years, but this rancher isn't letting me have it. Saddle up, cowboy, because I'm not giving up without a fight.
DNF at 72%. I’m so sad about this one. The bones are there. I was loving the story but there were so many grammatical errors and it really took away from the story. There were so MANY overused words and phrases. The FMC references the MMC smoke and being around his smoke and honestly I had no idea what that was even meaning. His aura? But the word smoke is mentioned 159 times in the book! I don’t think firefighter romances even use that word that much. Some of the nicknames and sex was cringey. I wish this book went through another round of editing because I really loved the story.
Part of the Langston family legacy for generations, Hallow Ranch was passed down to first-born son, Denver. No stranger to threats to the land, Denver is, however, not used to those threats coming in beautifully curvy packages with green eyes he finds himself getting lost in.
Working a soul-sucking job to pay her mother’s mounting medical bills, Valerie is determined to land the Hallow Ranch account for Moonie Pipelines. Despite being a threat to his birthright, there is an undeniable connection from their first meeting.
Breathe for Me is an engrossing love story à la Hallmark movies meets Yellowstone. Their turbulent start and the, seemingly, never-ending obstacles left me on the edge of the seat wondering if they really were going to make it through. I will note that the ending felt a bit rushed with a few parts feeling like details were missing. I was disappointed to not come full circle with the rocking chair as well. It was a point of significance throughout the story, but left out of the HEA. Lastly, this was an early copy and I will assume that editing took place after I received my copy, but there were enough typos that it felt as though no editing took place before distribution. That was not a factor in my final rating, however.

🛑 Be Advised: My Goodreads shelves are … explicit in both senses. As such, they could be considered spoiler-y.
I’m really sad this didn’t work for me. The word “smoke” was used by the heroine constantly in reference to the hero. Also the way the hero talked about his son’s mother and the heroine wasn’t for me. Maybe I’ll try book 2 in the future.
As the first born son, Denver Langston knew that he would one day inherit Hallow Ranch. Going against his father's wishes, he enlisted in the Marines and served 5 years before returning home. But on his first night back he is manipulated, losing his brother Mason... whilst gaining a son.
Almost a decade later, Valerie doesn't love her soulless job at Moonie Pipelines, but she'll do what's necessary to pay for her mother's chemo. So when she's told to convince the owner of Hallow Ranch to sell... she won't take no for an answer.
What she doesn't expect is for Denver to take her breath away. Tall, dark, handsome and ferociously loyal, he dismisses her from the Ranch before she can even introduce herself. She knows he'll be her hardest case yet, but this cowboy doesn't scare her. What she'll soon come to learn, is that he should.
5 stars doesn't begin to cut it for this book... it was absolutely INCREDIBLE! The back story was so detailed and I soaked it up. I read this book in one sitting and could not put it down, it's genuinely that good. It's definitely a dark romance with amazing 🔥🔥 scenes. Denver and Valerie were the perfect match, and Author Brittany Ann has nailed their mutual power/vulnerability ratio. There is so much I want to say but I refuse to give spoilers for such a brilliant book!
TW: PTSD, murder, sexual assault & general deviance
THANK YOU to Author Brittany Ann for writing such an incredible story and allowing me to read the ARC. I'll be lining up for the sequel 🔥 Pre-order now on Amazon ahead of the release date of the 21st of April 2023!

First Impressions Breathe For Me is a story that was with a completely new to me author. This author I was first introduced to through bookstagram as its pretty big all over there and I definitely was curious. I will be honest in that if I had just seen this book at first glance, I would have passed by it. The cover is pretty unimpressionable, however, I absolutely ended up loving this book in the end. It definitely is worth the hype that its getting and if you love the idea of a dark cowboy romance, than this book needs to get put at the top of your watchlist. This series is about two brothers and the connection to their family ranch and a enemy that wants to take everything from them.
First Line "Hey there, handsome," a female voice purred.
The Main Protagonists The Hero: Denver Alpha male, Military, Runs a ranch and is a single father
The Heroine: Valerie Desperate to save her mother, willing to do anything to save her

But there is more going on than meets the eye, and this battle between Denver and Valerie will be one wild ride...
What I Loved This book practically consummed me and kept me all night reading. Yep it was that kind of book. I had no clue how addictive this story would be or how drawn in I would be into this author's world. I adored everything about this book. And what great angst that was written here. I never know if I will enjoy how an author will write enemies to lovers, but Brittany Ann wrote superb angst that really made sense and loved the slow progression from enemies to lovers that this couple engages on. And it definitely gave me so many western atmospheric vibes that I was all in for. I would most definitely ride this cowboy because he definitely knows what to do in the bedroom that is for sure. And if you love filthy dirty talk with a prime alpha male and some praise kink mixed in there, than you definitely need to grab this one up. I just gobbled it all up.
I really loved the tale of the brothers and seeing their rift and seeing the growth in the hero in this book. He is so full of anger though and seeing him come to terms with his past and looking to mend bridges with his brother was so endearing. You could see how much family means to him. We see that in the type of brotherhood he has with his ranch hands and the type of father he is with his son....melted my heart. I absolutely adored seeing this child mixed in there and what a sex blocker he is and it was just hilarious haha But it wasn't overdone at all, it really felt normal in how kids normally block those steamy and spicy times.
The plot with the overall duo series was really interesting. I am really interested to see where its going to lead in the end and what a ending which has a bit of a serial cliffhanger and will lead you to instantly want to pick up the second book which is wonderful but very different setup from this one.
What I Struggled With Some of the grammar and book errors is in this, so just be aware the editing isn't super polished. But as that doesn't bother me that much, it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the story.
Overall View Breathe For Me is a superb story that will delivers hot spice, some laughs and well done relationship tension that is so well executed in the end and leave you wanting more of this world this author has crafted!

Recommendation For Reading Order Yes I would highly recommend reading these in order if you can, but you can get away with not reading them in order.
Steam/Spice Explanations
Steamin' up the room -the sexual content is more explicit in the language and tone, heavier amount of sexual scenes. --I would say that this is borderline to Blazing steam. The sex scenes aren't a ton though but the ones that we get are very high in the spice tones.
I feel like this needed to be fleshed out a little more. There’s a fine line when having a rude MMC: you need an FMC that is going to be able to call him on his shit and have a thick skin. The two first interactions between them had her crying and wanting to runaway even after saying “I don’t let anything get to me”. It just didn’t work for me. I don’t buy that she’d get over the hurtful things he said to her if that’s how she reacted initially.
Overused descriptions were a big problem as well. You were really made to know that the FMC was tall and curvy, and that the MMC was handsome and “taller than her”. The repetition in general just felt like it was adding to the word count instead of anything of substance.
As an aside, the MMC very openly (repetitively) slut shames his baby momma and later on tells Val (FMC) that “good little sluts get all their holes filled”. I don’t know, slut shaming the baby momma for sleeping around (even if she’s a giant POS), and then using slut in all of your degradation just doesn’t compute for me. Especially with how viscerally he hates this woman and how much it bothered him. I love degradation but this didn’t work.
The premise was intriguing and we need more dark cowboy romances out there. Outside of eye catching Instagram reels, this missed the mark for me. It really could have benefited with hired alpha/beta readers and a better edit.
A cowboy romance? Yes A dark cowboy romance? YEs A dark cowboy, single dad romance? YES
Sign me tf up 🥵
Breathe for Me is the first book in the Langston Brothers Duet by Brittany Ann and it knocked me socks off! It was steamy, angsty, and ranchy 🤠
I loved the main characters, the side characters, the setting…everything!
Denver is single dad & cowboy who will do anything (and I mean anything) it takes to protect his family’s ranch and his son.
Valerie will do anything it takes to get her mom the healthcare she needs…even if that means going after the ranches and farms that make up peoples’ livelihoods.
What happens when Valerie’s next assignment is to secure Hallow Ranch for the pipeline company?
If you think Denver is just going to let a pretty girl walk on his ranch and take it away, you’re sorely mistaken 😏
Again, I LOVED this book! It’s the first I’ve read from Brittany and I am so excited to check out her backlog! I am also *SO* excited for book 2, Denver’s brother’s book!
Thank you Brittany for an eARC in exchange for my honest review!!
Y’all, I don’t even know. Like I wanna continue with Mason’s story, but I kinda don’t.
I do know one thing for certain though, I never want to see the word smoke ever again. The word is used 154 times, and like 150 of them are in reference to the MMC 😅
Title: Breathe for Me Author: Brittany Ann Tropes: cowboy romance, single dad, small town, enemies to lovers, romantic suspense Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️,5 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐,25
"Christ. Those fucking eyes. Green. Forest green. Eyes a man could get lost in. Eyes that made a man want to get lost in."
"You don’t touch my woman. You don’t look at my woman. You don’t think about her green eyes. You don’t think about her pretty hair. You don’t think about her enchanting face."

“Breathe for me, Valerie. Breathe for me and never stop. Breathe for me because I’m breathing for you.”
"My soul was tethered to hers, and there would be no parting from it. She was mine and I was hers."
Are you ready for an emotional rollercoaster ride? The book I just finished reading will definitely take you on one! Breathe For Me is a story that was with a completely new to me author.
This story had me laughing, crying, and feeling all the feels. The angst in this book is superbly written and the slow progression from enemies to lovers between the main characters had me on the edge of my seat.
Denver, the dark cowboy, had me absolutely loathing him at first, but as the story progressed, I found myself warming up to him. He may be full of anger, but he also has moments of swoon and knows exactly what to do in the bedroom.
But what really touched my heart was seeing Denver come to terms with his past and start mending his relationship. The family values portrayed in this book are truly heartwarming, from the brotherhood Denver shares with his ranch hands to the love he has for his son.
Valerie's character is so beautifully written that you can't help but feel for her struggles and her pure intentions. It was difficult not to become emotional and empathize with her. She never leaves anything unresolved which is what made me admire her even more. She has encountered numerous challenges in her life, but when she loves, she does so with great intensity.
The ending left me wanting more. I felt that some parts were a bit rushed and could have used more details. And don't even get me started on the third-act breakup! It was frustrating to see the lack of trust when they had come so far. The writing style may not be polished, with some typos, grammar errors, and repetition, but that didn't take away from the overall experience.
However, despite the flaws, this book had me hooked. It kept me on the edge of my seat with its suspenseful moments and heart-wrenching scenes.
If you're a fan of dark cowboy romance and want to go on a wild ride, then this book is definitely for you. The praise kink mixed with some filthy and dirty talk was a cherry on top!
Dark+cowboy is my new weakness. I loved this book!!! Denver is the epitome of dark cowboy. He is the bar at which dark cowboys will be measured. He is willing to do anything for his family. Even the ones that don’t talk to him anymore. He will do anything to keep his ranch. On the flip side you have Valarie. She will also do anything for her mom, her only family. However, her "anything" isn’t as extreme as his. When her job puts her at Hallow Ranch trying to turn it into a pipeline, Denver will not let it stand. The push, pull, twist and turns of this book last until the very end! This is part of a duet. It can be read as a standalone. There is a HEA but the ending WILL have you begging for the release of Sing for Me! I absolutely can’t wait!
You need to read this if you like: -darker romance -cowboys -single dad -drama -touch her and ☠️ -forced proximity
(Denver made me rate it before I read it, cause he knows it so damn good! Better listen to the man. 👀)
Denver wasn't wrong. It's damn good! Denver is so broken after a woman ruins not only his life, but his brothers. He owns the ranch now, with his cowboys and has his son Caleb to look after. Miserable and lonely(even though he wont say it), Valerie drives up his ranch and flips his world upside down.
Immediately, he's drawn to her beauty,(as are all his cowboys and his son). She is tall, curvy, enchanting, and determined to get this sale, even if it means parking outside everyday, being ignored, to make her presence known.
But, Denver wants nothing to do with her, as she is there to convince him to buy his ranch. Her presence irritates him to the point that her not being there irritated him even more.
The plot was wild here and the love between them is rough and choppy, but they get roped in one another ( see what I did there) & they are good for each other, giving them back parts of their lives they had been missing. The meaning of the title broke my heart, those last few chapters were tough, and you really see Denver's love for her shine in those moments.
I loved the cowboys and Caleb. His infatuation with Val from the beginning is so sweet, and it's a shame he has such a shit mother. I think we really need Mason's story to complete Denver's.
Well if I were one to quit a book it would have been this one. I hate to give a bad review but man this book was hard to get into. The story line had potential yet nothing flowed together. There were grammar errors, misspelled words. It was hard to keep up with which character view point was talking. Just didn’t vibe with this book. Glad it’s finished
Ugh how can this even be happening right now! I have soo many questions...BRITTANY!
So as to not give anything away I will make this short and sweet because I refuse to give anything away with this book because you just need to read this book.
When I seen dark romance and cowboy, I'll admit I was hesitant but damn am I glad that I signed up for this. Valerie & Denver are complete fire, literally (you'll eventually get it) I was not expecting what I got from these two together or separately for that matter. Broody, alphaholes are my jam and Denver Langston is that and more. I mean I absolutely loathed him in the beginning because come on your being a dick, but then once the layers are peeled back, phew hold on for this ride! Valerie, oh sweet Valerie. I felt so much in her POVs that it was hard not to tear up and just understand where she was coming from. Her drive is the best thing about her and I cannot wait to see how she thrives on the ranch. This book was everything and more, so much that I got 2 hours of sleep because I had to finish this book. I had too.
Trigger warnings are A plus for this at the beginning. While this book was spicy as hell at times and down right gut wrenching others, it was so so beautifully written that the hard stuff comes across in the way it should and understandable. Brittany is a new author for me and this book will definitely not be my last!
Now like I said at the start, that ending. I need the next book like yesterday because I just have to know what went down for that outcome because holy hell do I need more. Welcome to Hallow Ranch indeed.
Before I get into it, I want to thank you, Brittany for trusting me with an ARC of your book 🖤
Now let me tell you guys something. HOLY F*CK. I have no words to describe how incredible this book is. This is by far my favorite read of 2023.
Denver's past trauma from the Marines, the family trauma paired along with Valerie's current situation with her mother, was the perfect cocktail of desperation, longing, and tension.
Two broken people growing together, making mistakes, hurting each other, coming back together, the spice... 😏 Perfection.
Part of me was a little wary, I'll admit, because I'm not super into small town romances, and the cowboy thing is a new subject matter for me. But WOW. This book delivered. The spice was **chefs kiss** Praise with a hint of degradation... Yes ma'am! 🙃
The supporting characters made the book even better, and the little Easter egg hints at crossovers from the Batter Up series had me squealing like a little girl. I'm not ashamed.
It flowed so well, and I read it all in one sitting. I can't wait until this book releases so I can permanently add to my collection by Brittany. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend this book. I immediately wish I could reread for the first time, and now I impatiently wait for the next book!
P.S. Get ready to ugly cry at least 3 times. You’ve been warned.
Wow okay I ate this shit up. Daddy Denver is 😮💨😮💨 I will say there was a few grammatical errors that I couldn’t get past, so it’s a 4⭐️ for me. I loved the characters and the story line and I’m excited for baby brother Masons book!
"Never judge a cowboy for his sins, sweetheart. Ask who wronged him first."
What You'll Find: --Dark Cowboy Romance --Enemies to Lovers --Smalltown --Suspense & Spice --Dual POV
Breathe for Me was captivating and unique. Think dark Yellowstone vibes. She's there to get him to sell his property to her boss. But he is having none of that, or her, despite his attraction to her. He is an absolute jerk from the start. But when danger lurks he's there. And that's when he and this story truly had me.
This hero won't be for everyone. It takes some time to warm up to him. He is harsh. But he does have moments of swoon under all that dark. And he certainly brings the spice. The mouth on him! The steam is hot, if a bit on the darkish side.
While I really enjoyed this story, it definitely could have used some editing- many typo's, errors and some repetition. Overuse of a nickname- though I do like the name. The third act also made me want to throw my kindle.
But in the end, this story has stuck with me. I felt all the things as I was reading it. Played like a movie in my mind. And the ending definitely has me looking forward to the next book. Can't wait to read it!

Dark cowboy romance with all the spice.
I would recommend this book to certain people and look forward to reading the next book in the series.
“Cowboys live simply, fuck hard, and love with everything they got”.
Denver Langston owns Hallow Ranch. Valerie is a lawyer who works for the corporation who wants to buy Denver’s ranch. He is a hard ass who is willing to do anything to protect his family and land. Valerie is working for a company she hates to pay for her mom’s chemo. Valerie is persistent & gets under his skin. Now the grumpy cowboy doesn’t want to let her go.
At the beginning, Denver’s attitude was not cutting it for me lol. He was so mean to her. There is grump, but he is an extreme grump. To be fair he has had a hard past, and is a marine vet with PTSD. Other than this, the plot really pulled me in! There was lots of drama/suspense, but also very emotional parts to this as well. This was giving a darker version of Yellowstone.
The smut was hot. Y’all the saddle scene was 😛🫦. If you’re in your cowboy summer romance era like me, read this.
So I have just finished this book and I loved it! I just watched 1883, 1923 and the four seasons of Yellowstone and have been looking for a cowboy romance that had the same feel as those shows, and Breathe For Me brought all the vibes I loved about those shows and included my favorite book tropes —touch her and you die, mine, want you in my bed only, want only you and no one else, we are enemies but if you need help I’m there. Needless to say Brittany Ann basically made this my favorite book I’ve read this month.
Denver and Valerie— what can I say about them without giving too much away… I loved their story and how both of them fought for the other even when they were both trying to hate one another.
If you love cowboys, any of the tropes I mentioned above, Yellowstone or just are wanting a dark cowboy romance, I highly recommend this one.
I think I'm officially into my dark cowboy era and I'm not even bad about it. The premise of this book was so good, a cowboy with a dark past trying to protect his ranch from every threats and a stubborn woman who won't take no for an answer. Yeah, I'm sold.
I'm not against the main narrative, even tho at some moments I questioned if this detail was really relevant in the grand scheme of things, mostly yeah, I realized later at the end of the book. BUT— idk if it was my copy of the book or what, I found a few typos and another thing I really couldn't wrap my head around it was the repetitive and really unnecessary use of words and same sentences, omg I just skipped... My man who.. this woman that was... blah blah blah, Unnecessary description and really I could have accepted even 50 pages less for this. So yeah, this book could have gone with another review/proof read easily.
Can we talk about the pet names? EH a little cringe-y in my opinion.
But yeah, it was not bad at all, now I'll wait for the second one, I'm really curious to know about the infamous younger brother Mason 👀
And shot out the all the other wranglers side characters Mags (I want his book biblically you cannot understand how much), Beau, and the twins Lance and Lawson 😌👌
**my reviews always contain spoilers, they are for me to help me remember because I read A LOT. My reviews are my opinion and mine alone; I curse like a sailor and my reviews will reflect that.
Loved it. Yes he was an asshole at the start. I’ve read much much meaner heroes though.
The whole brothers fiancé situation was gross even if he didn’t know it was his brothers fiancé.
This is the first book I’ve read in a very, very long time that kept me up until 4am. I couldn’t put it down.
One star docked for the third act beak up. By that point he should have trusted her. He should have also learned from running her off the first two times. It was also swept under the rug and I hated that.
But OMG the end. The END people! I could feel his every emotion while he begged her to live. Oh that scene gave me chills and all the feels. Chefs kiss. Oof. If he had groveled for that last blow up it woulda been 5 stars. That is saying a lot for me because I HATE single dad stories.
“Breathe for me, Valerie. Breathe for me and never stop,” I cried, shaking her body. “Breathe for me because I’m breathing for you.”
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This book is hot as hades! If your looking for a hot as sin, broody, dark, morally-gray cowboy romance then this is something you need to read ASAP!
Good lord this book was EVERYTHING. This book will have you drawn in from the prologue. It starts off with bang let me tell you.
Denver is a grumpy cowboy and Valerie is feisty and fierce. This is not your average cowboy romance where the cowboy rescues the damsel in distress and rides off into the sunset with nothing else happening. No this is a dark cowboy romance book. This book will make you laugh, swoon, cry, break your heart and then sort of put you back together again. It will make you have all the feels. There are so many eater eggs in this book that reference what is to come in Mason’s book Sing For Me, and also I love the mention of some of the characters from the Batter Up series and the upcoming burnout series.
I love Denver’s possessiveness, protectiveness, and his hot foul mouth. One word ROPE. I love Valerie and her protectiveness of her mom and Caleb (when the time comes). When Denver calls Valerie baby, I just melted all over. Denver’s love is everlasting and really shows at how he takes care of Valerie, Valerie’s mom, his ranch hands/the other cowboys, his brother, and his son. This man is just everything you could ever want.
Good lord talk about incredible writing. Brittany has done it again with an amazing book. Her writing is incredible and it shows how talented she is. There are going to be some great things to come from her for sure. She is amazing! With that being said, Brittany I’m sending your therapy bills (LOL). FREAKING AMAZING!
I read this as an ARC Reader and OMG I'm in love! Denver is just soo delicious! I never knew I needed a dark cowboy in my life until he galloped all over my heart. Valerie is the perfect FMC!!
Holy hotness! It was everything I was hoping for and so much more. Denver MF Langston is officially my favorite cowboy. He may be stubborn and have some things he needs to work through, but is he ever fine. 🥵 Enter Valerie, the temptress trying to steal his land from him. She hates this part of her job, but she's doing what she has to help her momma. When the two first meet, I immediately felt the tension between them. It was so good and I couldn't wait for them to snap. Of course, this story isn't all sunshine and rainbows. This is a dark book. Our cowboy is very possessive and if you touch what doesn't belong to you...well ☠ I absolutely loved the suspense aspect of it. Add on top of that, Mr. Tall, dark and handsome is a single dad and I just about melted into a puddle. Watching Val interact with Caleb was the cutest thing ever. The ending has me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book! I can't wait to see how it all goes down!!
Mind freaking blown! My first ever dark cowboy romance. My first ever book by Brittany Ann. And I couldn't put it down for a single second. This spicy adrenaline fuelled emotional rollercoaster took my breath away. Valerie and Denver's story was beautifully plotted and brilliantly executed. Denver is an epic alpha hero with broken past and twisted darkness. Valerie healed him while struggling with her own pain. They were tangled into a web of secrets, violence, power play and mind games but they ultimately found love.
Valerie arrived at Hallow Ranch to negotiate the sale of the land with the owner Denver Langsten. But what she finds is an arrogant hard headed alpha man who doesn't want to even listen to her. She needs this sale as her job it at risk and she needs the money for her mother’s treatment. Denver hates people like her wanting to steal the ranch that is his blood, sweat and tears. But there is something different about Valerie..can he trust her? This ranch isn't a sweet dreamy place. The ranch workers are a family and they are not afraid to go on the dark side. Is Valerie over her head?
So far all the cowboy romance I have read, there is a sweet small town and the ranch is full of nice people. But in Hallow Ranch, things are different. The people here are protective of their Land and their found family and they won't stop at anything when someone threatens their family or land. Denver has seen and experienced and lived through some heart wrenching tragedies. His heart has hardened and he despises outsiders. Everyone left..his parents, his brother and he doesn't think his dark heart is capable or deserving of finding love. His son is his life and my heart melts. He was rude and hateful to Valerie but her sincerity and sweetness broke down his walls. Valerie didn't like the job as her boss is a corrupt evil person and she did get fired. And once Denver claimed her as his woman, all bets are off! Oh my God possessive protective bossy controlling dirty talking filthy Denver is too much for my heart ( and panties). This one has some real hardcore sexy scenes! There is a parallel component of suspense and action going on that had me biting my nails and cursing silently. Denver and Valerie are up against some really crooked enemies and they may have their happily ever after for now..but Hallow Ranch isn't out of danger and the other Langsten brother has just come back. I cannot wait to go back to Hallow Ranch.
Holy!! Cow!! COWBOYS!!😻😻 Can you find me some?? Brittany Ann has bought them to life and they are here to stay. Langston Brothers Duet is nothing like what I thought initially after hearing about it. This is the first book and focuses on Denver Langston. He is the center of attention for every wet dream. Brittany did an amazing job writing them and after meeting her other characters in her previous book I know how dark they can be. Be prepared for a roller coaster ride with lots of spice.
What I felt most while reading the book was ‘JOY’, even in the heartbreak there was some soothing connection that told me everything will be fine, I just have to have some patience and self-control. I laughed, I got anxious, and sometimes I was on edge to know what comes next, and at one point it felt like everything is falling apart but just kept reading. After a long time, I DEVOURED a book in one sitting, and only 20% was left when I had to pause and do my work.
The plot is gripping & interesting and the characters supported it beautifully. Valeria is my favourite, her character has so much light. Irrespective of her job, her motivation has always been humble and pure. She never leaves anything on a false note and that’s the quality that made me love her even more. Her life is full of hardships but when she loves she does it with full ferocity. Her mom Nancy is absolutely adorable.
Denver is a tall, handsome cowboy who has a dark past and a lot to deal with and is like a bull who reacts first and asks later and sometimes not even asks. He started with a negative impression but his character took turns and revealed the darkness that made me look at him in a different light. The spice he gives is perfect for the story and can make you drool. Just keep a watch on yourself while reading him.
The ending got me questioning again and now I want Mason’s story to get my answers. I want more of Denver and Valeria, it ended soon although it’s a big book but felt like the story came to an end in a blink. The supporting characters were superb, they did their part with utmost respect and love. I love how a family can be formed just by heart. They spread all the positivity one can need in their life.
