Rate this book
The ocean is dark and filled with mystery, but it’s not the only thing with secrets. Lucy Sodaro has always wanted to explore the ocean. She never thought it would turn into a career, and definitely not one with her childhood best friend, Tucker, by her side. But now both are marine biologists, living their best life, until Abyss – a private company with murky intentions – offers them the chance of a lifetime. Three months at the bottom of the ocean inside their submarine, the Siren. Lucy and Tucker jump at the opportunity to do what they both love. Explore, with no limits, and all expenses paid. But the childhood best friends aren’t prepared for everything they discover on the ocean floor. Captain Jack might be an experienced submariner, but he doesn’t seem to enjoy women being in his space. And Nathan, the shy navigator, is too busy managing his panic attacks to be much help. Relationships new and old are tested when the journey continues to expose secrets, both about the depths of the sea and the dark desires inside each crew member. The ocean doesn’t discriminate, and when things go awry, the team must set aside personal grievances to survive their mission, regardless of the cost.

Because at the bottom of the ocean, the only way out is up.
Sunk is a standalone, why choose novel.

Please This book has themes/discussions/scenarios that include but aren't limited to mental health, abuse and addiction, tight spaces, on-page and off-page death, submarine jargen, water, and being underwater.

WOW!!! That blow to my heart.. I was not expecting that twist at all!! The whole book was a masterpiece.. it blew me away from the beginning to the end with some tears in between!!! I absolutely loved this RH!! It gave me everything I didn't know I wanted. This whole book was a change in scenery and it did not disappoint. I loved all the characters, how they had the different personalities that all meshed well together.

Well...it was a good book. I didn't connect with it much in the beginning, but as it went on it got better. I've been jumping from 3 stars to 4 stars. I can't decide what to give this book so I think I'll settle with a 3.5 star rating. It was nice, the smut was good but I did think this book needed more.

That's where spoilers come in, so close your eyes or leave if you don't want spoilers. (Personally I'm the type of person who loves certain spoilers, I'll be honest, I would have loved someone spoiling the ending of this book so I'd know if to continue reading it or not).

This plot felts a little unfinished. (I'll be honest after a certain something happened in the end of the book, I lost all will to continue reading and just skimmed). So we meet 4 characters here. Lucy (F), Tucker (M), Jack (M) and Nathan (M). Lucy is the girl they all fall for. Tucker and Lucy has been best friends since they were kids. He's been inlove with her since forever and even got a ring while in University to propose to her. He as followed her everywhere in life. Jack is just a grumpy hot man who drives? Sails? Makes the submarine move. Nathan was the navigator. He was quiet and geeky and has panic attacks. I'll be honest, out of all of those characters, the only one who didn't feel bland was Tucker. I know in Why Choose Romance, the whole point is to not choose just one, but that's exactly what I'm doing. Tucker was the only one who kept me wanting to read this story. BIGGEST SPOILER AHEAD: My baby Tucker died and I'm fucking pissed about it. I would trade all 3 of the other characters lives for Tucker to still be alive. Now with that being the biggest spoiler, I could explain why I felt this plot needed more. First of all, it's a Why Choose, so I would have preferred, when Tucker was dying, someone would try to go save him, or atelast try and have to be physically held back. Also, why does this ship send 4 people down and only have ONE SUIT? I feel like 2 suits should be minimum. Okay so here's where most of my problems lies. Jack is the only one of the group who has done more than one mission with the company who hired them, Abyss. On previous missions, they told him to come back up without a person or two, if you know what I mean. They didn't outright make him kill them. The people would make the decision to do something, and of they happen to be in danger, he would just refuse to help and turn a blind eye. So he didn't kill them, he just watched them die and did nothing about it. Jack also has a past and reasoning for this. Apparently he was married before, and a kid was drunk driving or something and crashed into her. She died, they went to court, and they kid got away without any repercussions. He went after the kid to take matters in his own hands, the kid had a gun, Jack managed to take it away from him and it went off, so the kid got shot and died. Apparently the kid was the son of a Mafia boss so Jack had to go on the run. So he needed money so he did the shadey things for Abyss. When he told Lucy, she asked if Abyss wanted him to do that to any of them, and he said no. He asked her if she thought he was a bad person because of it, and she told him no.
Then, in Jack's point of view, he says Abyss hinted that they wanted Tucker dead because they wanted Lucy on their side but they know she wouldn't do or go anywhere without Tucker. Also, there wasn't romance between with the men and Lucy alone. Tucker and Jack had feelings for eachother. There is a tremor, which is an earthquake underwater, and their oxygen tank is compromised. Tucker goes to fix it and that's how he died. So, not only did Jack lie to Lucy, he also let the man he loved go into a dangerous situation, didn't try to help him somehow, and let him die just like Abyss wanted. Oh, and in the end, Abyss apparently tried to kill Lucy so Jack took her and Nathan away. They are all kinda broke and on the run. How are they living successfully? Also, they are now running from not only the Mafia, but a shady company who is okay with killing people. Those are two very powerful groups of people who don't seem to like any kind of loose ends. So to sum it up, Tucker aka the best character in my opinion, died! And Jack is still a bad person. He got a chance for characters growth and didn't seem to use it to the best of his ability. Nathan is still the quiet geeky boy to me. I feel as if I barely knew him. The only difference between him at the beginning of the book, and him at the end was that he spoke more. Lucy was also just mediocre to me. There wasn't characters growth or proper explanations for stuff. Also, if anything, it would have made more sense if any one of the other characters died (am I just salty that my favourite character died? Yes but I'm also giving actual points). Lucy had her obsession with the ocean for so long. She was moved by it. She saw things differently than others. Some just saw darkness and she saw past it. Her death with her body being in the ocean where she felt at home would have made sense. Tucker probably would have went after her, without a suit and die right there with her though. If Jack died, they wouldn't have had to watch their back and be running from the Mafia, but they probably would have to be running from Abyss, and I don't think anyone else could have controlled the submarine. Nathan dying would just be the best with statistics. He never really had anyone, and his only connection was with Lucy, everyone else had a connection to more than one person. Tucker and Jack had a connection with eachother and with Lucy, so if the author really wanted to killed someone for the sake of the plot, it should have been Nathan. Or even better, let them all died with eachother. They all were escaping someone by going on this mission and almost all of them had nobody and nothing. Those four were eachother's family, so let them all die together. So in conclusion, LITERALLY ANY DEATH BESIDES TUCKER ALONE WOULD HAVE BEEN ACCEPTABLE.

First chapter was… alright, little boring, but there is a lot of information to cover, I get it. But the first page of the second chapter?? It’s Jack, the captain’s, POV and he straight up says women shouldn’t be on boats, he doesn’t work with women on boats. That superstition is so old and makes him seem intolerable. Women work on all kinds of watercraft.
Anyhow, I just don’t have the patience for this kind of character development especially because I’m pretty sure something is going to go rough with the dive and he’s gonna viciously blame her.

4.5☆

I don't even know how to write this review. I LOVED the hell out of the premises of this book. I am a massive nerd when it comes to anything to do with the ocean. And honestly, I've just never seen a book done like this before.

I loved that all 4 of them; Lucy, Tucker, Jack and Nathan all had their own reasons as to why they were on The Siren, and they each bought something so different to the group. I honestly thought going into this that Jack was going to be my favourite, but my heart just melted for Nathan in the end.

I love a forced proximity trope and you can't get more forced than the close quarters of a submarine, and that's what made this so different for me. My heart was literally in my mouth for the last 30% waiting and waiting to see what was going to go wrong.

I'll definitely be checking out more of Torri's work in the future, and can't wait to see what comes next, I really hope she'll revisit the ocean again

OMG. This book totally wrecked me, there’s only been 1 other book I’ve cried this hard over. I needed a moment after reading this before I could do a review. This book was so good, I knew going in I’d love it, Jinxed was one of my favorite books f/last year. But I wasn’t expecting or prepared for the emotions I’d feel.
Lucy & Tucker have been best friends since babies, they did everything together, so when Lucy set out to study marine biology- so did Tucker- & when she was approached about doing a 3 month underwater mission Tucker followed too. They were teamed up Jack- the captain, & Nathan- the navigator. All 4 of them were either running f/something or had secrets to hide. Jack was holding one secret that could destroy his relationship w/everyone. There’s an instant love/hate connection between Lucy & Jack, one that’s hot. And when Tucker sees it it forces him to admit to Lucy his feelings. Being forced underwater forces all of them to discover things about themselves & admit things that could jeopardize relationships between them. And when something happens that puts all their lives in danger everything changes & nothing will ever be the same again.
This was so good, I couldn’t put it down. It had me anxiously flipping the pages, & left me in a huge book hangover. Tucker is the kind of guy we all need in our lives, he was her protector- always looking out for her. Their friendship & love was the epic kind. The forever & always kind.
Once again Torri you’ve written a book that will always stay w/me.

This book was so freaking good!! The concept of this book was everything I didn’t know I was looking for. The submarine aspect is refreshing. It was so different!

This was a brilliant introduction to the series. I adore Lucy and Tucks friendship and love for one another. The twist and turns, the secrets and unsaid truths left me on the edge of my seat and I stayed up all night just to finish. The emotions are high from start to finish in this book. IYKYK.

There is loads of spicy spice in this book some of it felt fast but also fitting given the close proximity of the characters. I mean what else is there to do but get close ya know!

I love that Sunk on the surface of a great book but it also touches on some delicate topics such as being a woman in a male dominated field and just the overall downfalls of being human. This book has so many elements to it that I can’t possibly list them all you’ll just have to read it!

Like always check triggers 🖤

I was beyond lucky enough to get an ARC thanks to Torri Heat and Peachy Keens and let me tell you:
OH MY GOD!
This book was EVERYTHING! Now no spoilers! It releases on the 31st so run to preorder now!
But this book was amazing! I loved everything about it, it gripped me from the very beginning and didn't let me go.
It's an emotional read, made me cry a little (which rarely if ever happens) but I loved it! The men are amazing (this is a why choose) Lucy is amazing, and watching them come together, and then at the end be there for each other. Was phenomenal.
This book will definitely be sticking with me and I will be NEEDING a copy on my shelf.

Excellent!!
Such an original and interesting storyline.
From the start it grabbed my attention. The twist and turns had me eager to get to the next page. It had me feeling all kinds of things.
We got suspense, mystery, steam and much more!! The spice was delicious and all throughout.
I liked all of the characters. Lucy, Tucker, Jack and Nathan. My favorite was Lucy and Tucker's relationship though. Oh, my heart Tucker.
I loved seeing new and old relationships form and the banter between the characters.
So, so good!! I have a feeling I'll be thinking about that ending for a while.
I loved it!!

Well, I sat here crying like a baby for that specific part 😭

This book was more than I expected with an original story. Who doesn’t want to be trapped in a sub with 3 hot guys! You get a bit of everything with these characters of different personalities. I loved seeing how everything unfolded.

I absolutely loved the concept of this book. I loved the relationships in this book, each character had their own personality, strengths and weaknesses but each fit together so perfectly. The twists and turns made the book that much more exciting. I could not put it down, I had to see what was going to happen. The spice- so fing incredible.
What I did not love was SOBBING at a certain part!

This is a why choose romance.
TW- some dark themes **

Thank you so much Torri for the arc read! Opinion is completely my own✨

I absolutely adored this book. I loved all of the characters so much, the tension is immaculate, but this book took a piece of my heart that I’ll never get back. You need to go into this book blind for the best experience.

Cannot wait to see what else Torri writes!

This book was totally different in a lot of ways from what I'm use to with Torri (in some ways it was exactly what I expected...wink wink) But I absolutely loved it and now that it's done I'm not sure what to do with myself! I couldn't put it down and now I have book hangover...so thanks for that Torri.

⭐️ - Book Rating: 4
🌶 - Spice Rating: 4

🌊 - Important Notes:
I was given an ARC from PEACHYKEENAS in exchange for an honest review. So, I will do just that. Additionally, there's also no spoilers in this review and everything is just basic info.

🐟 - Review:
Okay so this is definitely a book I must say that you should definitely READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS. Like seriously, please read the triggers so you may know if any of the topics that are within the book may trigger you. I know it's not a "Dark Romance" book but it doesn't deal with light topics.

With that being said, I really liked this book. I really liked Luce and her dynamic with the guys. Jake, Tuker and Nathan were everything and Luce completed them.

However, this book broke me. So, beware.

🤿 - Short Final Thought:
I really do recommend this book, however it is a tear jerker. Meaning you may shed a few tears.

I think I haven't read a book that made be sad throughout the book since Exodus by Kate Stewart and they says quite a lot.

I loved Jake, Tucker and Nathan with my whole heart.

🪸 Quick Notes:
Cheating: No?
OM/OW Drama: No.
Virgin Hero/Heroine: No.
Trope: Why Choose, Tear Jerker and On Page Death Of A MMC
HEA: Yes, I guess.

Im crying so hard right now😭 I feel like my heart was ripped from my chest and put back with missing pieces. I definitely did not see that plottwist coming and I don't think I'll be getting over it anytime soon.

I was hooked from the beginning. How she had a different relationship with all 3 guys. Loved how everything didn't happen at once. It felt like she got with them when the time was right it didn't feel rushed at all.

With them being stuck in a submarine for 3 months there was definitely a lot of sexual tense and Chemistry between them. I liked the way the author wrote it cause even with all the sexual tension there was a lot of emotional and sweet moments.

They all had different personalities and bc of that there was a lot of clashing between them. So it was very interesting to see how they connected and how everything unfolded between them.

I would have liked to read a little more of them living together at the end though. Especially with everything that happened i just wanted a little bit more than a description I guess.

Im still crying btw💔

(Thank you Peachy Keen and the author Torri Heat for the eARC in exchange for a spoiler free review)

This book is a first from this author.

It reminded me of Does It Hurt with the ocean vibes so I had to read. Also an RH in the ocean? Can’t get more interesting than that.

I love how unique the settings was, it created such a vivid imagination in my mind with all the characters. The harem was also interesting because everyone was different and yet they were able to connect with one other despite their personalities.

I was not feeling the book in the start because I was finding it hard to relate to them but it got better over time. I did not expect that end which was indeed a plot twist but overall the book was so great!

Will definitely keep a lookout for more of Torri’s books!

Holy shit. I was NOT expecting the feels that happened in this story. Lucy and Tucker and best friends and have been since they were children. They do absolute everything together, Lucy studies marine biology so does Tucker, she goes on a 3 month trip to the bottom of the ocean, Ticket goes right along within her. Jack is the captain and Nathan is the navigator. Jack comes off at this hard core ass hole but is harboring some demons he’s running from. Nathan is this sweet man, dealing with a difficult past.
The instant chemistry between Jack and Lucy is off the charts, Tucker confronts his feelings for Lucy and Lucy can’t help but fall got sweet Nathan.
But 3 months at the bottom of the ocean… what could go wrong.

Holy cow I could not put this down. Read it in one sitting. It had all the feels, spice, and truths. I feel the need to go and read other works from Torri!

Sunk features, but is not limited to, the following themes:
○ Reverse harem
○ Submarine setting
○ Friends to lovers
○ Grumpy/Sunshine
○ MF, MM & MMFM scenes
○ Science Research team

My overall rating for Sunk is...

5 stars!

My favourite Torri Heat book yet! Sunk is a steamy, heartfelt and scientific adventure that is bound to leave you soaked (in more ways then one!) I loved each and every member of this four person crew! Their backgrounds were explored as their journey beneath the sea took to exciting new levels. I loved the budding romances and sexual encounters. The love and utter heartbreak almost ruined me. Overall, if you love love, give this book a damn read... and bring a box of tissues.

Speechless...

I think I need to process all this.

"Infinite souls
Bound together in more ways than we could ever count"

This book was heartbreakingly good. I never saw the turn coming, it was so good that I felt it in the depths of my heart.

If you are looking for a story that fills you with sexual and emotional tension, you are in the right place, the protagonists did things to my heart and I don't even know how to react after reading it I fell in love with the story

I have to confess that at the beginning it was very difficult for me to connect with a certain character who got on my nerves with his attitude but everything evolved. Listen, the subject of the submarine is quite interesting and personally I had not read books with this environment and I liked it, it caught my attention.
The friendship between Lucy and Tucker was perfect and naturally they had to move on to something better and it made sense to me.

Tuck's attraction to Jack also made sense to me because his heart no longer accepted another woman but he did accept experiencing passion and what better than with someone who loves your partner in the same way or close to what you do.

Nathan hurt a little because I didn't feel so included but I know that later in the future he was the perfect complement to Lucy and Jack 💙

The book earned 5 ⭐ it stole my emotional stability for a while and that's worth it 💙

NATHAN I LOVE U SO MUCH MY BOY.
JACK JACK JACK, U KNOW SO WELL HOW I FEEL ABOU U.
TUCKER MY LITTLE SWEET ANGEL, I'M SO PROUD OF U, I LOVE U SOO SO MUCH, YOU ARE THE MOST UNIC GUY IN MY HEART.

AND MY SWEET AND BEAUTIFUL GIRL, YOU'RE SO LUCKY, YOU HAVE A FAMILY NOW. IT'S SO SWEET AND SAD 🥺
I'M NOT OKAY.

MASTERPIECE.

“The ocean might have been dangerous, but if I wasn’t careful, Lucy Sodaro would be far more treacherous.”

TORRI HEAT!!!! Wow. What an exceptional book. You know how to write romance and spice. That’s for damn sure!

Sunk follows Lucy (FMC), and the 3 men who are set to travel to the bottom of the ocean for 3 months in hopes of a big discovery! Tucker is Lucy’s childhood best friend, Jack is the captain who is a little bit hard to love in the beginning but stick it out, and Nathan… sweet, adorable and shy navigator.

I loved so much about this book, the story and romance alone was top notch but Torri writes in a plot twist that had me in fetal position at 1 am.

“Maybe the ocean knew all of us better than we knew ourselves.”

Read if you like:
* Steaming hot 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
* Swoon-worthy romance
* Why Choose (seriously, why?! You’ll love these 3 men)
* Ocean/underwater/submarine life for a new and fresh setting
* Emotional damage
* Badass FMC, crushing the biz and making a name for herself

Thank you so much Torri for the arc of Sunk. I loved it with my whole heart!!! 🖤

This book made me feel all of the emotions. I sobbed. I wasn’t really sure if I liked Lucy at first, she seemed a little too oblivious for my liking. But she really grew on me throughout the book. I loved Jack, Tucker, and Nathan though. Especially Jack, we love a grumpy book boyfriend. The spice was hot, and I was continuously surprised throughout. Overall, it was really good and I definitely recommend.

This book…I was definitely not expecting to love it so much. This is the ultimate forced proximity with friends to lovers, grumpy sunshine, why-choose (mmfm) all thrown in. A small crew of 4 on a submarine for 3 months…what could they possibly get up to?!?!? I devoured this book in 12 hours because I could not put it down. Each character in this story has demons they are fighting and you can’t help but root for each one. And that ending…my heart almost couldn’t take it.

What an adventure! What started out as a once in a lifetime opportunity to explore the ocean’s floor turned into something bigger and more beautiful. A why choose story set in a submarine in the deepest, darkest trenches of the ocean. The characters were all phenomenal in their own way and the storyline was fantastic! Definitely recommend this one!

So, I read this in one go beacuse I couldn't stop.

The only thing I wanted more of was tension. There wasn't enough of that. I needed more!
This was to short, and how DARE you do this to me?! WHaaaat! This shouldn't be legal.

Loved all the characters. I want a 2nd book with these guys.
Because what if...
