Iโ€™m supposed to feel elated, on top of the world; ten years of hell and now Iโ€™m free.
I want to make amends, right the wrongs and let go of the past.
Yet, the fire still rages within.
The time I lost, the family that moved on, the friends that let go.
The one thing I didnโ€™t expect, was her.
Sheโ€™s my new boss, the one I answer to, sheโ€™s off limits. And Iโ€™ve gotta toe the line or Iโ€™ll end up back in jail.
I fight every instinct that tells me to take her, screw the consequences.
I thought there couldnโ€™t be anything worse than a prison cell, but I was wrong.
My own personal brand of purgatory is taunting me, testing me and this is one fight I cannot fail.
For everyoneโ€™s sakes.

I donโ€™t know what I expected from my new employee, but this isnโ€™t it.
Heโ€™s everything that spells ex-con.
Rough round the edges, covered in tattoos and eyes that burn like wildfire.
Iโ€™m meant to live and work beside him, be his boss, show him the ropes.
But all of that goes out the window the minute weโ€™re alone together.
I didnโ€™t expect my insides to ignite every time I see him.
The skeletons in his closet hang over him like a dark cloud, one that draws me in no matter how I try to fight it.
And fight I will.
I canโ€™t fall for the resident bad boy.
I know heโ€™s not good for me, no matter how much my wildest desires crave him.
