From the Ashes #1

King of Carnage

Rate this book
This town knows who runs the streets.
With the cops on the payroll and my family literally getting away with murder, it’s obvious.
My parents built a goddamn empire.

I run the local college and the racetrack with my siblings.
No one crosses us, they wouldn’t dare.
Everyone knows I don’t hesitate when it comes to my blade.

Problem is, things are about to crumble at my feet.
What do you do when your best friend is the one to cross you?
Especially when it’s your adopted brother.

In this life of fast cars and power, family means everything to me.
He ripped my heart out with his fist, and I’ll destroy him just as much as he destroyed me.
Maddox is about to learn just how dangerous I really am.

I can’t let him weaken me, I already have Jett knocking my walls down a little at a time.
My dads would kill me if they knew what was about to happen under their roof.
I know it seems wrong but if I can’t have Maddox, no one can.
I’ll kill any other girl who tries.

My name’s Beckett Donovan, and I take after my mother.
I never really did play by the rules.

*This is a 120k word dark MFM romance. This is the second generation of the Watch Me Burn series, but it is able to be read as a standalone. This is Beckett, Maddox, and Jett's story.

➽ KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

'🅺🅸🅽🅶 🅾🅵 🅲🅰🆁🅽🅰🅶🅴' is the first full length reverse harem book in author R.E. Bond's 'from the Ashes' series. Spoken in 'multiple perspectives.'

This is Beckett's, Maddox's and Jett’s story and let me tell you it's one you don't want to miss, I freaking loved the dynamics of this trio, at first I was worried it was going to be a love triangle and my heart at that stage was Jett's but how this all played out was perfection, it just worked and made me fall so in love with these characters I just wanted to stay in their story longer.

Just a heads up concerning our heroine, Beckett, you've not met anyone quite like her, she's as tough as nails and has brought many men to their knees with her trusty knife and she's not afraid to use it, if anyone crosses her or her family watch out she's on your tail.

One look at the cover, 🔥 🔥 🔥 another look at the blurb and I knew I wanted to read this, once it arrived on my kindle, I started it that day and didn't finish it until the wee hours of the morning.

282841111-538169087898307-366499303166819902-n

I'm guessing these characters have appeared in previous books by this author because we're only given glimpses of their back stories in this so it doesn't really delve too much into them. It was a wee bit confusing with all the characters, gangs etc but it wasn't too hard to keep track of them all once I progressed further into the book and caught up on how they are all tied together.

This ticked so many boxes, from the rival gangs, to the slightly dark elements, to their slightly forbidden relationship, then throw in how they decided to make things work for them just made all those feels rush at me. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

285349970-546256190422930-3368013051214182372-n

This doesn't end on a cliffy so I'm kind of unsure what's to come next though there are a few loose ends in this which I'm guessing get resolved in the next book and I for one will be along for the ride. This is only the second book I've read by this author but I'm quickly becoming a fan of her writing.

Three years after the drag racing accident that claimed the life of her brother, Lloyd, in a fiery inferno, Beckett Donovan walked out the prison gates a bit more jaded.

As she navigates her newly-complicated personal life, she’s also constantly looking over her shoulder. With her family running the notorious Bloody Psychos street crew, she’s become the target of a rival street crew.

Beck has always harbored a different love for her adopted brother, Maddox. However, it’s taken her years to come to grips that she’s in love with him. Although a badass on the surface, Maddox fears the repercussions of admitting he feels the same. When Beck seeks solace from Jett, Maddox is forced to confront his feelings and make a decision.

“…I’d prefer to share you with him than lose you completely. I love you, I’ve always fucking loved you.”

Between the angst from the budding relationships, the OW drama, and the non-stop action the other street crews bring, King of Carnage takes us on a roller coaster of epic proportions.

If you’ve not read the Watch Me Burn series, which features the parents you’ll meet in KOC, do yourself a favor and join Rach’s reader group. She’s posted family trees which make it a bit easier to keep everyone straight. There are a lot of characters and connections that will be confusing without some reference.

King of Carnage by R.E. Bond was a roller coaster of emotions from fury to anguish to love and many more. I could feel every sentiment, every reaction in my bones throughout the journey of Beckett, Maddox and Jett’s story. It is fairly a dark romance and it is laced with quite a bit of past trauma. I have to admit I’ve cried a few times and one of those times was really ugly crying of the highest order. Though it is a standalone but I would advice my fellow readers to read the Watch Me Burn series to get a feel about the family members and the crew life so they can appreciate their kids’ story a bit more but like I said, it is not a must. The heat level is through the roof so get ready for some spicy action. Definitely a one-click for me!

Beckett is just like Rory and I LOVE it!!!

King of Carnage is book #1 in the From the Ashes series. Its a dark, MFM, college age romance.

I freaking LOVE Maddox, Beckett and Jetts story! And seeing Rorys guys as Dads, oh boy. I think my ovaries exploded.

King of Carnage is an emotional rollercoaster!!! RE Bond is such an amazing writer, you feel everything the characters are feeling.

I'm trying to keep this vague so I don't give anything away, but this book has everything we love about Rachs book, badass FMC, hot Alpha guys, torture, amazing spice, and a plot that will hook you.

I loved this book and can't wait for more in the series!!!

This freaking book!!!!
The beginning was an absolute gut punch, but the rest of the book had me on the edge of my seat.
Jett had me busting up laughing through the entire thing. Maddox, Jett, and Beckett were the perfect mix together. All a bit damaged and broken, but they glued eachother back together easily.
Beckett is as tough and ruthless as her mom, but she knows how to love and boy does she love hard. The boys show her it's okay to be vulnerable sometimes, and to lean on others when you need it. That's not a sign of weakness it's humanity.

I gotta admit even though I knew it wouldn't I kept hoping this would turn into an RH. the sexual tension in this book was off the charts!!
I was struggling with wanting to read through it quickly to find out what would happen, but also wanting to read it slow so it didn't end so quickly.

Another amazing book in my favorite series. So excited for Riley and all the other kids!

First of all let it be known Beckett Donovan is truly her mother Rory and her dad Skeet’s daughter, sharing a mixture of traits from both. There's no denying it at all!
Just like Rory’s stories in Watch Me Burn series, Beckett led you on a wild rollercoaster ride that was full of angst, emotional turbulence and emotional turmoil. Alongside her love interests Jett Emerson and Maddox Donovan in King of Carnage.
The drama, suspenseful build surrounding the mystery, on top of the action packed thrills caused the gates of emotions and feelings to come pouring out, whilst being thrown in array simultaneously.
And that was without taking the journey of the relationship between Beckett, Jett and Maddox into account. All of which was a story of its own, given the craziness that ensued between the three. Whether it was together or with just either one of them with Beckett.
One things for sure, they brought the steamy fire, in any and all moments shared between them in their relationship. Another aspect in which she was her mother’s daughter, cracking the whip and showing whose the boss in order to fulfil her lustful hunger!

King of Carnage was a good read, sucking you in from the get go with dark moments on top of some shocking twists and surprises. One of which caused a major explosion which was completely and wholly unexpected. So much so that it left me jaw dropped, having to take a moment just to take it all in since it ultimately left you heartbroken.
Given that it is second generation, R.E. Bond definitely showcased the lives of Beckett, Jett and Maddox well. The inclusion of the storytelling being told through their multiple perspectives allowed the character development to be given a thorough in-depth look into their lives as well as their thoughts, opinions and views of what was going on with them and around them. Whilst sharing the emotions to go along with it, given the many situations and events that took place.

The main issue that wouldn’t allow me to get past or move on from it was the fact that the story revolved around a supposed throuple relationship between Beckett, Jett and Maddox. Yet IMO after a certain point the narrative made it seem like this wasn't really the case, instead the focus moved onto Beckett and Maddox for a majority of the story leading Jett behind.
While it’s understandable in part that Beckett and Maddox shared a special bond with having grown up together. And so their relationship needed to be built and expanded upon even more as well, given their dynamic change.
However it didn’t sit well with me how after Jett’s relationship with Beckett was established, he was then pushed aside to be either be an after thought or completely forgotten a few times IMO. Despite him being there for Beckett through the ups and downs she endured, of which some was caused at the hands of Maddox himself.
In fact as the story progressed further the mentioning of Jett seemed to be sprinkled out becoming more and more sparse, even when with Beckett it was pushed to the background. Instead bringing forth something else to focus on.
Ultimately leading to more times of the secondary characters given the focus instead of Jett, which just irked me to the point of not being able to ignore or let it go. Especially since Jett had me falling for him from the very get go with being my favourite character.

There was one thing that left me confused by the end and that was the loose end that didn't seem to be tied up. Since King of Carnage is considered a Standalone, it had me wondering would that answer be fulfilled in the next book regardless of it not being a continuation of the first book. Definitely left me curious to know.

All in all, King of Carnage was not only a good read overall. But also a good start to the second generation series From The Ashes.
Reading Beckett, Jett and Maddox’s story was definitely enjoyable, especially with the appearances from the first generation particularly Daddy Skeet.
R.E. Bond came through and has me excited to read the other books in the series, wondering how those stories will play out.

Overall: 3.5 ⭐️

This story was great and it kept me engaged, but I wished there was less “brother f@&$er”. It was over used and took away from the story itself.
I loved the relationship with Zane, but I wish he was part of Beckett’s Harem. He brought a different personality to the group and brought out a new side of Beckett.
Beckett was a strong female and she didn’t take anything from anyone, which I loved and she let out a different side with Maddox and Jett. She let her walls down and I love seeing that side come out from characters.
I also felt that the story was a little one note. Every time Zane brought someone to Beckett for questioning they questioned, and disposed of, then her family got mad and made sure she knew that Zane was a bad person. It felt very over used and I wished for more.

Races, crews, fights and a little of blood and violence… this is definitely my type of book kkkkk
This is the first book of a series, but the characters interconnect with others - Watch me Burn- but it’s no affect or change the whole story (sure, i’m curious about them, so i already put this books on my TBR).
Here we have the story about Becket (a girl with no afraid of who she are, with a bloodlust and tendencies of violence) and her relationship with your brother (Maddox) and Jett. With a few problems between crews, ‘politics’ and secrets (and a lot of deaths and betrayals) Becket needs to manage all this with the fact of her love interest to both guys who growed up: Jett (and i have to say that i loved him, with your sarcastic and playful way) and Maddox (your brother). I really enjoyed the characters and the story created and, even didn’t ended with a cliffhanger, there are so many ways and stories to be told that i’m curious to read the next ones

King of Carnage by R.E. Bond is a dark MFM romance. This is the first book in the From the Ashes series and can be read as a standalone.

I absolutely love Rachel's books and I was so excited when she announced the spin off from Watch Me Burn series. She did disappoint with this story! I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next.

The relationship between Beckett, Jett, and Maddox took me on an emotional rollercoaster that I never wanted to get off. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Pretty Little Psycho to be released on October 10, 2022 so I can get Riley and Luna's story.

I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, MFM romances, or romantic suspense.

Wow, just wow. You think the series about Rory is something?? Haha let me tell you this. This standalone blew me away.
Beckett is everything I was hoping for and more.
I am so excited for the rest of this series full of standalones.
I laughed, I sobbed like a baby and I smiled.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

I have been dying for a romance where the heroine takes her crown and slays her enemies with it.
This talented author brought that to me and so much more within the pages of this book. Once I finished it, I flipped back to the beginning and read it for a second time because I wasn't ready for it to end.

Beckett is such a badarse! Her personality is cut first and then ask questions - I love how she isn't the flowers and chocolates kind of young woman - she definitely prefers to burn rubber and sharpen her blade.

Maddox is the damaged soul that is buries his pain deep, but his love even deeper. The connection between him and Beckett is one that burns bright and lives on for eternities. His demons may be long gone in reality but they still haunt him in his dreams.

Jett is the perfect balance between these two - his love and devotion for Beckett is something that even the toughest of women will adore. I couldn't help but laugh at his light hearted moments and swoon over his sweetness.

These three together is just perfection - I laughed, yelled and swooned so much. I have never yelled at a group of characters as much as I have with this group. The angst and the longing about ripped me in two, but it's so worth every painful part in the beginning. I loved the characters, how each of them had their own strengths and weaknesses. The story was phenomenal with the perfect mix of action, twists, surprises and steam. I will definitely be going back and reading Beckett's parents story because I want to know it all and I can't wait to see what this talented author has in store for Riley!

Beckett Donovan is a member of a ruthless family who runs the town she lives in. Beckett herself is just as ruthless, quick with a knife and always ready to destroy anyone who gets in her way. The only problem? She never expected her adopted brother to be the one to cross her. Maddox and Beckett have always been close, almost too close, and now that the lines are starting to blur, Beckett is determined not to let him get under her skin. Especially since Jett, her twin brother’s best friend, is already breaking down her walls.

Okay, so this book had a really interesting concept!!! It is very dark and full of triggers, however, so please proceed with caution. I really loved the complexity of the relationships between the crews, and I loved how important family was to them. The plot was super engaging, and I liked Beckett’s relationship with Jett, although her relationship with Maddox was a little harder for me to believe. My absolute favorite side character was Zane, he was so funny and completely cold blooded, exactly the type of psycho I adore. All in all, I would recommend to fans of taboo dark romance!

“My girl doesn’t play by anyone’s rules. She makes her own.”

This a MFM stand-alone and I’m obsessed.

Beckett is definitely Rory’s mini-me and I was here for it. She is a spitfire and hard to handle. I love it! Jett was amazing; he’s absolutely hilarious and rounded out the book perfectly. & oh my goodness Maddox. He’s broke and perfect. I wanted to hate him when he treated Beckett poorly but you can’t help but love him.

This book was a roller coaster of emotions; anguish, heartbreak, and angst. I could feel the emotions radiating off each character and THAT compliments the authors writing the most.

Though this is a stand-alone (first of a new character series), I highly recommend reading the authors Watch Me Burn series first. It thoroughly introduces the family characters and crew members. Reading this on its own will be a bit overwhelming of characters.

Stopped at 64% DNF

Don't normal DNF a book. However, this book is too long and it just repeats violence and sex over and over. Only person I actually liked was Jett, everyone else was just nothing I was interested in.

I like dark books but this was boring to a point be cause it kept repeating cover and over.

Goes to school
Sex
Violence
Goes to track
Sex
Violence
Repeat.............

Just couldn't takes it anymore. Beckett has 1 mother and 9 dads, Seriously? Better yet their all gangsters.

It gets obnoxious with them saying " you're sleeping with your brother" over and over and lets not forget "come to daddy"!! GROSS!

This is the first story in the From The Ashes series by RE Bond. All of these stories are set to be standalones. I am here for this series already!! I have loved everything Bond writes and this book is no exception. We are thrust back into the world that Bond created in her debut series, Watch Me Burn. This time the kids are all grown and have lives of their own. This first book revolves around Beckett, Maddox, and Jett. This is no love triangle through, but an MFM. As much as Bond puts into her RH stories, she puts just as much into her MFM story. Beckett is the perfect mix of her parents. Strong and take nothing from anyone. She is out for revenge and no one is going to stop her. Maddox has so many conflicting emotions going on. It all relates to how he feels about Beckett. Jett gives off Golden Lab puppy energy, but don’t let that fool you….boy is hot when he wants to be! I loved being back in this world and seeing all of the characters again. This book has spice for days and enough drama and angst to keep you engaged. There are some trigger warnings so be aware of those.

And so the second generation begins and I am here for it. Like mother like daughter, we are presented with Beckett who pretty much rules it all, just like Rory.

This standalone is book #1 in the From the Ashes series. It's a dark, taboo romance. Together, Beckett, Maddox and Jett are a firestorm of emotions. One of my favorites was seeing Rory's guys as Dad's. I l freaking loved it.

This book definitely has a bit of everything with the emotional roller-coaster, uncontrollable laughter of obsession, push and pull of should or shouldn't I and just the overall emotion that RE Bond tends to bleed out through her work .

This was another great book in this world and I can't wait to read more! I also tend to love her characters who always have that bada$$ mentality. Its the greatest. LOL

*Overall 4.5/5
*Heat? 4/5
*Multiple first person POV
*Med Burn
*Ends in HEA

I honestly have to say that I love this generation. Beckett being Rory's daughter is refreshing and she's badass just like her mom but for some reason she's a bit different in a way. I loved her chemistry with Maddox and Jett. All three of them together (Menage style) was deliciously sweet.

The drama, the violence, the thrill all of it is still all there and I loved it all.

I can tell you that you can't go wrong reading a book by R.E. Bond. She's taken me on such a great ride with all her characters and I have enjoyed every single one of them and I certainly can't wait to continue on the journey with this 2nd generation.

RE Bond always writes such badass female characters, and this one was no different! There are MANY characters in this book, while it can be confusing to some, it might help reading the Watch Me Burn series prior to this (it’s about Becketts parents) but not necessary! The emotional rollercoaster I felt watching Maddox, Jett and Beckett made a perfect ending to a situation that could have turned sour at any minute.

So this review is going to be as vague as possible because, I was lucky enough to win an early copy of this book and I don't want to give anything away.

What I will say however, is that I absolutely loved it. I love books that talk about the kids of the previous series. Does that make sense? Anyway, I loved it, I loved how the relationships worked. I love the friendships that developed. I love the traders that were uncovered. Well I don't love them but you get my drift.

I swear to God you're going to love this book. The queen of Rh has done it again.

I am so proud of re bond.

THANK YOU, R.E. Bond, for giving me exactly what I wanted without me knowing what that was.

This was a dark romance that started off heavy and gave me a crime family, a little bit of bully and some creative relationships that left me tearing through this book at a high rate of speed.

The relationships were angsty and Beckett, Maddox and Jett's story isn't for the faint of heart. I love how this harem developed into what it is through a TON of big feelings and drama both in the family and with other crews. The crime family/street crew portion of the story gave me all of the darkness that I crave in a romance like this and I simply *cannot wait* for the next installment in this series.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This town knows who runs the streets. With the cops on the payroll and my family literally getting away with murder, it's obvious. My parents built a massive empire. I run the local college and the racetrack with my siblings. No one crosses us, they wouldn't dare. Everyone knows I don't hesitate when it comes to my blade. Problem is, things are about to crumble at my feet What do you do when your best friend is the one to cross you?? Especially when it's your adopted brother. In this life of fast cars and power, family means everything to me. He ripped my heart out with his fit, and I'll destroy him just as much as he destroyed me. Maddox is about to learn just how dangerous I really am. I can't let him weaken me, I already have Jett knocking my walls down a little at a time. My dads would kill me if they knew what was about to happen under their roof. I know it seems wrong but if I can't have Maddox, no one can. I'll kill any other girl who tries. My names' Beckett Donovan, and I take after my mother. I never really did play by the rules.

This is a dark romance and is a second generation book of the Watch Me Burn series. However if you have not read that series you will be totally fine diving in to this one. This is the story of Beckett, Maddox and Jett.
Beckett has been grieving her brother who died in a drag racing accident. It was a fiery crash that took Loyds life and now the time has come for her to walk out of the prison gates. She will be doing it just a little bit more jaded that she was before she went in. Now she is about to have a complicated personal life to navigate while constantly looking over her shoulder. Her family after all runs the Bloody Psychos street crew and it isn't long until Beckett becomes the target of a rival street crew. She also is dealing with the fact that she has had a thing for her adopted brother Maddox. It has taken her years to come to terms with that fact and a girl gets lonely and needs someone when they are not sure that the man they have had it so bad for for so long even knows that she feels that way. This leads her to turn to Jett and forces Maddox to admit to himself just how he feels about Beck's. Sounds complicated and a little taboo? You would be right and I loved these characters and I really felt for them in some of the things that they went through. My heart might have even broke and a tear or a hundred was shed while reading this book. It is dark and deals with some heavy trauma and it also is smoking how and will keep you on the edge of your seat. It really does make for one amazing read and I feel like ya'll are going to love it too.

After the cover reveal and reading the blurb I was SUPER excited for this release. This is a new to me author and I had such high hopes, however, I feel like this one fell short for me, unfortunately.

I think this had all the right ingredients but there was just too much happening for me to get my head around. Obviously, I haven't read another work by R.E so didn't know the dynamic with all of Becketts' 'dads' etc, which left me quite confused at the start as there are just SO many names to remember and figure out. Plus all the other clubs and secondary characters it was a bit overwhelming.

In saying that I really admired Beckett, she is such a badass and strong FMC who takes no shit, and I thought R.E wrote her really well. I absolutely adored Jett, I think he was the sweetest and most lovable character, who mostly just followed becket around like a love-sick puppy and it was so endearing! Maddox on the other hand was the total opposite, and a hard cookie to crack. I loved the balance between the two though and loved how they interacted with becket both individually and together. Some of those scenes together were... 'chef kiss'.

I am rating this a 4/5 as I don't want to blame the author for me not understanding the characters and some of the backstory, I think had I read the Watch Me Burn Series I would have enjoyed this one a lot more.

I am still intrigued to see where this series goes, and how some of the loose ends will be tied up. If you are after racing, steam, gangs, and violence then this is for you!

A Phenomenal Start To New From The Ashes Series!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review

OMG it was so freaking awesome reading Rory and her men’s Legacy, I knew I was going to absolutely love the new spinoff series but I didn’t know just how much till I started it. I literally had a hard time not calling in to work just to keep reading.

This is Beckett, Maddox and Jett’s story. And it’s definitely an emotional one. Beckett and Maddox have been in love since they were kids but he’s her adopted brother that her parents took in when his parents abandoned him. They struggle with their relationship not just from internal judgment and rumors at school but also with how their family will react to them. It’s very emotional for these two and they really pull at your heart strings with their struggle. Jett has been in love with Beck from the first day he ever met her but she finds him a bit obsessive until one day he finally wins her over. The chemistry between these three is absolutely amazing. Beckett also makes friends with a rival leader’s son and I sensed some definite chemistry between them too but Beckett regrettably friend zones him right away. Their banter back and forth is very entertaining but when these two get together they cause and get into nothing but trouble.

This wasn’t just a romance it also had suspense and action and so many other things happening that truly kept you on the edge of your seat. There was no cliffhanger, which I kinda wish we could get more of Beck, Maddox and Jett’s story but they did get a HEA at the end. I can’t wait to see where else R. E. Bond takes us with this new series and with Beckett’s siblings. Highly recommend this book and all of R.E. Bond’s books.

Awesome jump into the next generation!

This was such a great start of bringing us into the new generation from the Watch Me Burn series. It was awesome to see Rory, her Psychos, and her Devils along with their allied crews.
This story specifically centered on Beckett (who is 1000% a mix of Rory and Skeet through and through), Maddox (her adopted brother and best friend), and Jett (her twin Ryder’s best friend and who was raised by her parents).
Beckett has been in love with Maddox almost since he was brought into their home and their bond is undeniably tight and treasured by each of them. Well, until Beckett’s released from her 1 year jail sentence at 21, and they each realize how much harder it’s getting to hide their true feelings from everyone, including themselves and each other, then it becomes a bit strained.
Since they were teenagers, Jett has almost obsessively loved Beckett, especially after they had sex at 17. But, Beckett has always considered that experience an accident and looks at Jett as the annoying man-wh0r3 best friend of her twin who obsessively hits on her.
What happens when Jett is finally ready to show Beckett he’s dead serious about her? What about when Maddox, her absolute rock, betrays her to the core and destroys their relationship so thoroughly it begins to fracture the entire family dynamics? What about when Jett is there to help Beckett during the heartbreak from Maddox?
Even better, what will the family’s reactions be to all of this? KOC gives us a huge story that gives us so much background on, not only these 3, but quite a few of the new generation! It also gives us a look at how these 3 decide if they can figure anything out about their relationships. There’s tons of mystery and drama that everyone touches the whole family along with the allies, and on the journey to solving the problems that
I’m hooked from this great There’s quite a bit of dark topics covered, some humor, plenty of spice, and a whole ton of repressed emotions.
I’m so happy I’ve already preordered the next two books in this series so I can find out about Riley and Rider (and of course visit Rory with her guys, and Beckett with hers) stories as soon as they’re ready!

I've been in a reading slump the past few days and have been dying to read a badass bloody FMC RH book. And I found it! 😍

« He didn’t have to worry about boys chasing me as I grew up. I quickly destroyed them if they tried. »

I am in love with Beckett 🥰 She's an absolute badass And Jett is so sweet loving her all this time. Thank god she ended up with him.

Don't get me started on Maddox. I was expecting more angst and groveling 😠☹️ But at least they're a throuple 😄 The scenes are hot AF 🔥🥵

I love that Beck and Zane are friends. Was hoping he would join the harem 🤭 But I'll guess I'll have to settle with them being besties 🦋

The plot was f*cking amazing. This is best book I've read which has such an intricate gang plot and I really want a sequel to Beckett, Jett and Maddox's story. I don't read FF or MM books mostly unless it's in a RH but I will definitely read the next book in the series just to get back in this universe 😍

Holy crap, this was a freaking rollercoaster. Again, I say: Holy crap. HOLY CRAP. Such a wild ride. The dramatics of it all had me freaking hooked, besties. Hooked. Beckett, our lovely badass main character, was SO COOL. I have a crush on yet another cool female character who could beat me into a fine pulp in under 15 seconds. Sue me.

Maddox was a dbag. It took him a while to win me over. Men are stupid (no offense... but also offense... but no offense of course.) However, Jett was like a breath of fresh air. He wasn't the alphahole that I'm used to seeing. Don't get me wrong, I love a good alphahole, and at first, Jett with his sexual innuendos reminded me of that weird cousin who hits on you even though you're blood related and he really shouldn't be hitting on you. BUT the boy redeemed himself just by being so freaking sweet and so attuned to Beckett's emotions. Like, I swooned over this kid. He was exactly what Beckett needed.

AND ZANE. Oh my god, I loved the friendship between Beckett and Zane (even though in my humble opinion, it should have been more. And if Zane gets a spinoff book, I'm the first one in line to buy it because Zane can get it.) The writing flowed extremely well and it was really good at getting AND keeping my attention.

At first, all the people and names were a bit confusing, but I caught on pretty quickly. I do recommend reading the original series (Watch Me Burn) first since it was written first, but I was able to do it just fine, so if you want to jump head first into this, go ahead! I do know for a fact that I will be devouring that series as soon as I can because the writing in this one was phenomenal.
