This is the conclusion to Ava Jade and the Crows’ story, and it is EPIC. That’s not a word I use lightly. This one gets darker than the other books, as Ava Jade confronts her personal monster and the guys deal with demons of their own. And let me just say, Ava Jade kicks some major booty.

This book moves along very quickly, as is fitting for the plot. There is a lot of violence, lots of suspense, and my feelings got the better of me on a few occasions. The spice is perfect and goes up a notch or two, you just have to be patient for it ;) I absolutely love the ending that Ava Jade and her guys get, and I’m excited to read more in this world!

I think my rating for this one is also a reflection of the whole series and not just this book. Because the book itself was good, it was very action packed and had me on the edge of my seat almost the entire time. However, as the last in a serial I felt disappointed.

Through three books prior to this one we were getting hints about Ava Jade's past, but in this book I felt like all of that was forgotten. I was fine in the last books where there wasn't a ton of backstory for her because it felt like we were gaining it little by little and that we'd eventually get to the end and it would be revealed. But that didn't happen. I felt like things were forgotten about or maybe glossed over so fast that I missed them

Overall, I enjoyed the journey these characters took me on and I did really like their story. I do feel like the conclusion didn't give us the best closure but that didn't stop me from still rooting for these characters.

Pretty much skimmed the first 60% of the book since I was bored af. I feel like the story was dragged a bit too much along with the whole stalker shit. Like it possibly could have been shortened to less than 4 books. Disappointed at the way this series ended since it actually started out well🙁 Not too bad tho...worth the 4 stars🙂

Did the book end? Snorefest

Dang, I’m sorry to the author and those that “Love love loved it”.

This was awful. Skimmed soooo much. This last book ruined the series for me. It was rubbish.

Some characters that were brought it? No idea what the point was.

This entire series could have been 2 books and been good.

Expect the unexpected with the warped minds of the crows and their queen

Book four picks right up where book three ended

Ava Jade comes face to face with her stalker, his identity finally revealed

Corvus, Rook and Grey work against the clock to find her, following every lead possible, whilst dealing with the heavy losses from the fight at the docks

Ava Jade is subjected to her own trauma at the hands of Drake/ Jericho, shifting her pain inwards to make it through and out the other end.

In between all the chaos, they discover that Drake/ Jericho are both one and the same person, putting Becca in the line of fire along with Corvus, they are stretched to their capacity, if something doesn’t give soon one of them is going to revolt.

Ava Jade makes a bold and daring escape from her captive, attempting to find her way home, in the process Rook and Grey happen upon her, shocked by what they discover when they see her.

When Ava Jade receives the treatment needed for her to heal, Corvus is all but happy to have his Sparrow back in his arms, but all too soon as they bask in there newfound happiness, Ava Jade is dealt a crippling blow when it is discovered, due to the trauma she endured, that she may never likely have children.

Ava Jade, Corvus, Rook and Grey struggle with the trauma that they have all endured, each working to find there way back to each other, to become the unit that they once were, accepting their own faults and taking responsibility for their actions to put them all back on the right path.

Ava Jade shares with her guys what she endured, in the hopes that it will lead to them fining her captor, they finally get some good news when Becca wakes from her coma, her efforts not in vain, as they begin to finally fill in the gaps, and when a shocking truth is revealed it makes their plan all the more bittersweet.

And when they enact their plan, it isn’t without its faults, as Ava Jade comes face to face with her trauma of where she was held captive, again coming face to face with Carter, but in a shocking twist we almost loose our heroine, but our crows will not give up the one thing that makes them whole, they fight for their very existence, moving heaven and earth ensuring they all come out of the aftermath unscathed.

And in the end, Ava Jade, Corvus, Rook and Grey give as good as they get, extinguishing the one person that caused them all their pain, finding there semblance of peace and balance, a heavy burden having been lifted from their shoulders.

This book has it all dark romance, possessive dominant alpha males, a dominant alpha female who gives as good as she gets, love, murder, madness, mayhem, revenge, vengeance, violence, trauma, defiance, adrenaline seeking suspense, jealousy, twists, turns, truths, deception and betrayal.

This story is told from multiple POV, it will take you on a wild ride, having you turn page after page, this book had me from the beginning to the end. Reading this story, it enables the  readers to really connect with the characters, and as the story unfolds the readers see the development and growth from the characters singularly and together.  The author definitely knows how to write and I’ll be coming back for more.

And those MF, MFM and MFMM s*x scenes, including those BDSM elements were steamy, yet sensual, dirty, hot, intense, physical, provocative, it had all the angry angst, hate, jealousy, pleasure and passion one would except when Corvus, Rook and Grey show Ava Jade who they really are and takes them for all that they are, darkness and all. For they take what they want without consequence, each giving Ava Jade the pain and pleasure she deserve, their possessive and obsessive need for control and dominance, it was off the charts and had all of the feels.

Cannot believe that this is the end of there story, but all good stories must come to and end, the sacrifice’s for their happiness was heartbreaking, yet the rejoice they felt for finally having Ava Jade back in their arms was bittersweet.

Despite there trauma, Ava Jade, Corvus, Rook and Grey work well together in there own way, because nothing will come between them. They love each other, regardless of there differences, because they are in this together, they got there happily ever after which proves that Corvus, Rook and Grey are no short of being possessive, wicked and depraved, showing Ava Jade who’s clearly in charge and who owns her heart, mind and body, it was oh so perfect, and one very well deserved for them all.

Entertaining but also ridiculous

I enjoyed the first two books in this series, however this one and the 3rd book not so much.

The creative writing license got pushed too far for my to enjoy. While the whole premise of a bunch of highschoolers being bada$$ g@ng members is already farfetched, I can get behind it for the sake of the story.

What I can't believe are people surviving being shot in the chest, people surviving throwing themselves off a building and not needing serious physiotherapy, being shot in the leg and walking it off (pun intended), a myriad of other inconsistencies like these and most of all the tstl decisions Ava Jade ramped up in the 3rd and 4th books.

This was the best ending

Hands down one of the best series I have found on Kindle Unlimited.
The characters have growth, the plot develops without being ridiculous, there is a beginning, middle and very good ending.
I love the building of your own family, that it isn't just about blood.
I loved that it was just a smut driven story.

Worth an Infinite ++++++ Stars

This whole series took my breath away right from the very start. Ava Jade owned me, she owned my heart, soul, and mind from book 1. This review is for the whole series and not only for book 4.

Corvus,Grey and Rook , these broken boys with their gold hearts won me soon too. I absolutely loved watching the Crows fall for their Queen AJ. I respected their love, protectiveness, devotion and loyalty that they showed towards each other. These 4 had a blasting chemistry and I enjoyed burning with them, each time they collided. These boys earned my respect and adoration with their amazing personalities. I loved seeing the Crows showing their vulnerable sides, their insecurities, and their secrets only to Ava. I swooned with how they behaved with Becca and how protective and appreciative they were towards her.

AJ was literally forged from the fires of hell. She was a lethal ,kick ass, bad ass, knife weilding, brave and courageous girl. I absolutely loved witnessing her taking down the Crows from their high horses, especially Corvus. She never bowed to their demands. Her bravery and perseverance , along with her tactical planning skills throughout the trials were simply awe and respect worthy. She earned my reverance with the way she handled Becca's case. She literally became one of my most favourite Fmc. This girl went through the wringer time and again only to come back stronger. I whooped and did a happy dance when she literally injured Diesel and taught him a lesson during the Becca ficaso. She handled her stalker well and I salute her grit and determination when she escaped from his clutches.

I adored and loved Becca too. The girl didn't shy away from her major mistake and owned it. She has an innate strength and is a bad ass in her own right. She didn't abandon her bestie and stuck with her even during the tough, dangerous and brutal times. She knew the risks she was taking while sticking with AJ and yet never succumbed to her fears.

I had mixed feeling for Diesel. On one hand I respected his protective and loving stance he had toward his sons but on other I never liked how he treated Ava during the trials or how he handled the whole Corvus and his Bones secret, good thing we had Ava and her no nonsense , no shit taking attitude :) I really, really, really wanted to strangle Diesel during the cliff scene in book 2. I loved him in the last book.

The stalker was an evil psychopath who got his deserving demise but damn, if I am not in awe with his amazing planning skills. The guy wove an intricate and fool proof web for the saints and Crows and literally made them his own puppets.

Kudos to the author for delivering proper justice to her characters, especially the female lead. Often I have come across books where the fmc is described as something and portrayed as something else. Also I have always preferred fmcs to be strong, kick ass ,bad bitches who don't mind getting their hands dirty to miss goody two shoes or naive, innocent , weak minded, damsel in distress types of girls who forgive the male lead/s because of their magic appendage in dark bully or in general dark romance novels. The series is devoid of such atrocities and I absolutely adore the author for the same.

This masterpiece of a series will have a special place in my heart and I can see myself reading and devouring this series again and again in the future <3

This book. Holy fucking shit this book. This book, this series, these characters, I just.

How is it over?

What do I do now? I go back to the beginning and start over, right? Like, that's the only logical conclusion? Is it weird that these whackadoos in a gang that are into knife play are now comfort characters for me?

Probably, but I am who I am.

Holy shit what a sendoff. Truly. This series was just incredible from the first page to the last.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck I love these books.

[I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review but then I also went back and reread it because I had it preordered so I've already read it twice I promise I'm okay.]

The conclusion of this story was a masterpiece. This one is incredibly dark with some gory aspects. My heart broke a million times. The spicy is amazing. This book was dark and twisted and everything I needed. The story was action packed, and the pacing was quite nice. There were multiple times that I gasped out loud.

The groveling between Ava and Corvus was chef's kiss. I adored it. Corvus, Rook, and grey own my heart. I loved reading the characters healing and growing and surviving. Also, the scene in her aunt's house???? Smoking hot.

The ending made me tear up. Honestly, it was the perfect conclusion.

Awful. Absolutely awful.
My issues with this book
→ The redundancy. Near-death experience? Sex will make it better.
→ Speaking of near-death experiences... the injuries in this book took away from the story. Before you all roll your eyes and remind me it's fiction...just listen.
Grey gets shot in the eye, then goes to war. Corvus attempts suicide by leaping off a building. Gets his skull drilled into to fix the brain bleed and then he goes to war. Rook gets shot in the leg and walks it off on his way to war. AJ is brutally tortured, drugged, assaulted, starved, SHOT IN THE CHEST, and just goes about her life. You know, participating in a little double penetration to take away the ache.
→ Redundancy issue x2. Every time something happens to AJ, someone is threatening suicide. I won't go on without her breathing the same oxygen. Bury us together. Oh she's alive? Nevermind then lol whoops
→ The characters introduced do a complete 180° in this book. Diesel is introduced as a grieving, lovesick fool. Barely able to go on without his dearly departed wife. But he keeps the boys around because Jaqueline always considered them her sons.
Not in this book. In this book he cheated on her and had a child with someone else because she couldn't have children. What?? Now he's a liar and a cheater AND abandoned a child?
→ A giant plot point of this book is the fact AJ has a stalker. And he's strangling women who look like her because he's so obsessed.
Her stalker is abandoned bio-son of Diesel who was so pissed off Diesel wouldn't induct him into the gang life...that he stalked Diesel's non bio-sons' girlfriend?? What??
That doesn't make sense. If his anger is directed at Diesel...why would AJ be targeted?
→A GIANT plothole that nobody seems to address is the fact that Diesel didn't recognize his biological son from age 12 to 20-something?? What?? Idk about y'all but I pretty much look the same from age 12 to 26. Not soooo different that my own parent wouldn't recognize me.
→ You know those mysteries introduced in book 1?
Like what did AJ's mom do to her? What happened at the tracks she was so worried about? Who killed AJ's dad?
Yeah you never get any of those answered. They play no part in this book.
→ Slap on the wrist for the addiction representation. Very poorly done. Her addict lover returns to doing drugs. She tells him to stop and he's immediately clean. No struggle. Poof. Yeah you can't introduce him as an addict then not have him struggle after he fell off the wagon.

The fourth and final book in the Boys of Briar Hall series was much darker than the previous three but so damn good! The darker theme fits the content – we were left at the end of Twisted Games with all three of the guys seriously injured and AJ abducted by her stalker. Warped Minds throws us right back in, and the hectic pace doesn’t stop until the end.

Our strong heroine, Ava Jade, is seizing any opportunity she can to escape or push Drake to end it all, but she is quickly running out of options as Drake resorts to higher-handed methods of restraint and drug-induced blackouts. Luckily, AJ is no damsel in distress who needs a white knight to save her, and she refuses to give up, even when things look bleak. (This is where the book is the darkest, so here is a reminder to check TW/CW.)

After blundering around for too long and thinking Ava Jade has left them for good (not that she wouldn’t be justified with the way Corvus spoke to her last), the Crows finally realize she has been abducted by her stalker. They pull out all the stops to try to identify the stalker and rescue her. While hunting, they uncover secrets that threaten the existence of the club itself.

The steam is significantly higher in this book, and they have greater opportunities to indulge in each other. Corvus finally learns how to share his toys, so we get some very nice group scenes with many combinations of hole stuffing. I liked the build-up throughout the entire series as the relationships developed and comfort levels grew. It made sense to reach this point only at the end of the series.

This book wrapped up all the loose ends perfectly, and the HEA was well-deserved. This will be one of the series I recommend when people ask for a RH Bully/Enemies to Lovers Academy Romance to add to their TBR.

What an epic ending to a thrilling series! Crooked Crows was such a surprise I stumbled on and just added to my TBR. I saw the first had an audio, listened to it and was hooked in the first chapter. This is a completely underrated series I’m obsessed with and will never stop recommending!

Warped minds picks back up right where we left off with Twisted Games. It starts off immediately with action and is intense. Ava Jade has been kidnapped and drugged. The Crows are going out of their minds because she left after a brutal lose to the gang. Corv blamed her and was shot, Rook was shot in the leg and can’t walk (not like that stops him), and Gray was left 1 eye down. They are broken, beaten and now missing Her.

Ava Jade is an absolutely bad mamajama from the start, but with the guys at her side she only grows and evolves into her full potential. In turn she brings the guys to their knees and strengthens them. They live for and she for them.

Warped Minds was a wild ride that was nonstop action, laughs, sorrow and spice! The scene in her aunts house and the one in Sanctum will live rent free in my head for a long time! A truth that is revealed changes them all, but the ending is exactly what they deserved. Through trials they come out swinging and become what a found family is always suppose to be. I’m sad to say good bye to these characters but so excited for the Kings story next!

Spice Level: 4/5🌶

Gahhhhhhh! Boys of Briar Hall has been a godsend for my reverse harem loving, dark romance obsessed, and spice addicted soul and Elena Lawson delivered for fans like me with every single book in the series. Warped Minds was epic! I couldn’t have wished for a better conclusion to Corvus, Grey, Rook and Ava Jade’s story. It was filled with thrilling suspense, bloodcurdling action, and oh-so-very-hot intimacy with lots and lots of steam🔥🔥🔥. However, the tipping point for me to list Warped Minds a brilliantly epic ending rather than just a great one is the authenticity of the characters’ emotions’ when they fear for each other’s lives and the lengths they go for to secure their girl. Especially, two scenes will stuck with me forever; one involving Corvus and the other Rook. You will see what I mean when you read it. I just recommend all dark romance fans like me to read the Boys of Briar Hall knowing that they will love each and every book in the series. The pace never slows, their love never wavers, and the steam never dies off. Definitely a 5⭐️ read!!!

2 stars for factual accuracy and conceptual flaws, 3 - 4 stars for concept

This timeline is all wrong, the author isn't keeping it straight: they went to Thanksgiving at her aunt's house, returned to school four days later where Corvus was outed as the rock singer; he sulked for 2 days and sometime shortly after was Diesel's birthday, which was the night she was captured. So basically she was captured the last week of November or the first week of December. So, by the time they found her and she was at the hospital asking the nurse about her hallucinations there was no way there could have been "weeks" of her getting drugged. There are only five weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and the climactic scene between the Kings and the saints happens 10 days before Christmas.

Messing with the timeline even more is the fact that all the action in this book took place in less than five weeks, since it starts the night she was captured on Diesel's birthday about the week after Thanksgiving, and she spent around a week with Carson (?), that means there could only be a span of about 10 or 12 days between the end of her captivity under Carson and when she got injured again during the final assault on the Kings ten days before Christmas. Meaning basically she, and the guys for that matter, had only been recovering for a week before the robbery at her aunt's where she supposedly jumped off a second floor banister during the hide and seek, and then later that same night jumped out a second floor window to escape the house. I get that she's supposed to be badass, but let's get real, even a "stable fractured pelvis" would no longer be "stable" after the jarring from 2 second floor jumps, not to mention getting double or triple teamed during rough sex twice in that four week timeframe after having her pelvis broken, being stomped until she sustained enough damage to become sterile (but no internal bleeding?), and getting shot. So Ava Jades injuries were seriously overstated, or the author is going with the macho Hollywood "it's just a flesh wound" kind of heroes and heroine and normal healing of things like fractured skulls, brain bleeds, second and third degree burns, gory rending of flesh to the bone from her wrists being tied, and a fractured pelvis (which takes 8-12 weeks to heal during which no pressure can be put on the pelvis lest the jarring actually caused the bones to separate meaning the fracture is no longer stable). So it was basically completely unrealistic, the timeline was completely hosed, meaning there were factual errors and/or plot errors galore.

So then let's talk about the sex scenes, which were tossed in places that made me feel like "oh, we haven't had enough sex scenes, we'll cram one in here," or in other words gratuitous sex scenes that did not fit the facts relayed in the storyline nor the situation in which they were crammed.

In short if this was a spoof, kind of like the movie "Last Action Hero" it would have been okay, but this took itself way too seriously and was too unrealistic and unfactual. The basic plot was intriguing and I enjoyed the action I just don't like reality getting suspended when this isn't a paranormal storyline, the unfactual portrayal or plain forgetting (the gouging of her wrist(s) to the bone) of her injuries which was never mentioned again, and the timeline being that off. And even though I like steamy books I don't have to have steam just for steam's sake if it doesn't fit the story at that point. This just felt too forced.

What I liked about the book was the mystery concerning the enemies, the stalker and each of their pasts, and the portions of the book that had to do with bringing her into the saints and her trials -- the not knowing what was going to happen next. I appreciate the overall intrigue of the series but was a bit disappointed there wasn't more discussion of them checking for spying equipment or spies, as anyone in a long-term criminal organization would think to do and which I felt left them vulnerable. Toward the end of the last book it was thrown in like an afterthought plot correction that the guys had been sweeping for bugs and cameras all along but it had never been mentioned before.

The character building was pretty good, and the action kept it all moving. AJ was fairly intelligent, although there were glimmers of "what the heck were you thinking," in places where I had to remember that they are teenagers. I appreciated the different types of relationship she had with each of the guys, each one was unique, and I liked the interplay between the guys regarding her, in fact I wish there'd been a little bit more of that.

Over all the concept was great, I liked the heroine, I liked the heroes, I liked the world she built which was pretty decently done, it was just too condensed to be believable, and the injuries and their recovery would have been believable had the timeline not been so condensed. But it's an impossibility for somebody to start jumping off of second story windows and not end up having urinary issues, numbness, or other complications from the pelvic fracture, and the fact that while she was in captivity she struggled so hard the bindings on her wrist cut her to the bone, but afterwards even in the hospital it was never mentioned again, like it was yet another detail the author forgot (like the fact she couldn't have been drugged for weeks) -- it was little details like that, just got on my last nerve. With injuries like what was described in AJ's inner monologue to her wrist she shouldn't have been able to hold a gun much less fire one. And I've had injuries to the bone from a car accident, and a couple weeks didn't fix it, it took over a month. Now bruising and swelling yeah those went away fairly quickly the serious injuries don't get healed in 10 days.

Holy shit - what a final wild ride AJ and her Saints took us on. Dark, twisted, tense and violent - it was the perfect mix, I legitimately could not put it down, and read it in one sitting.

An impressive conclusion to an epic journey. Ava, Grey, Corvus, and Rook will forever be implanted in my mind, especially with their warped (pun intended) way of thinking.

There were a lot of surprises in this ending, many questions finally answered, and enough spice to make a preacher blush. Elena kept me on the edge right to the very end and I’m genuinely sad to say goodbye.

Absolute phenomenal read and an exceptional ending to the Boys of Briar halls series!

I am absolutely in love with Rook, Corvus and Grey.
There was so many twists in this book that I’d don’t expect and the fierceness of the boys protection over AJ is so swoon worthy!

I recommend this to absolutely everyone!!❤️

I really enjoyed the previous books in this series, and I was really looking forward to the conclusion. Unfortunately, I found myself skipping pages and rolling my eyes more than anything else.

Warped Minds is one big battle after the next, with some smexy scenes that seem as though they were tossed into scenes at random. The characters were near death, but yet they were "enjoying themselves." It just didn’t fit with what was happening. There are times in high-stress situations where these things happen and it’s a believable scenario, but this wasn’t one of those times.

I wish there had been less "life or death" and more details on the what and why of what the first 3 books were leading up to. The reasons and the person behind it made no sense.

**Spoilers below**
Throughout the series, one of the subplots is AJ's having a stalker. It added suspense and at times had your mind spinning as to who it could be. Then we get to the final book and find out who it is, and it seemed as though it was just tossed in without any rhyme or reason.

The stalker is Diesel’s biological son. He had an affair, and the woman was apparently psycho, poking holes in the condom thinking a child would make him leave his wife. He found out she was pregnant the week after they found out his wife couldn’t have children, so instead of telling his wife, he just tossed money at the woman and kept it all secret from her because he didn’t want to hurt her.

He bought her a house and sent her money every month on the condition that no one ever finds out who the father is, and then he didn't see or hear anything for another 12 years. That child strangled his mother to death, and after Diesel offers to get him help and he declines, Diesel walks away.

Obviously, this is fiction, but in order to enjoy a story, I need to be able to "believe" what’s happening inside the fictional world, and that’s just not the case here. None of that adds up, and since there really weren’t other details given on these things, they seem more like they were tossed in for shock value than anything else. After Diesel offered to get him help, he found out who he was and wanted to join the Saints. When Diesel wouldn’t let him, he started writing increasingly concerning letters.

But at this point, why wouldn’t Diesel have looked for him? And not only that, but he was obviously caught having murdered his mother, so why wasn’t he in juvenile detention longer? He had been enrolled in high school in an earlier book, so that would mean he only spent a handful of years in juvie, and for such a brutal crime, that’s just not feasible.

The way Diesel loves Corvus, Rook, and Grey, none of that fits the person he is portrayed as throughout the series, not the cheating, not tossing hush money to keep a child secret. It ruined the whole series for me after reading each book and the build up of all of what was playing alongside the love story. The previous books kept you captivated with their twists and turns, and the final book just fell apart at the seams.

There was endless action, but none of it really moved the story along. It was mostly more filler than anything. There were steamy scenes that played out after life-saving measures were taken to save a character. One character attempts suicide while the heroine is struggling for her life, "because he just can’t live without her." It all seemed more for shock value since the majority didn’t really add much to the story or move it forward in any way.

All the build up over this 4-book series, and then the longest book has the least amount of information to move the story or even offer any character development, and after such an intense build up, I was expecting much more.
